Commissioned into the Indian Army in 1990, Colonel Rajib Bhuyan served the nation with distinction for more than three decades. During his long and distinguished military career, he held a wide spectrum of operational, command, and regimental appointments across some of the most demanding and challenging terrains in the country. His service exposed him to diverse operational environments and the unique challenges associated with serving in varied theatres, shaping him into a seasoned soldier and experienced military leader.
A quintessential regimental soldier, Colonel Bhuyan has always remained deeply connected to the traditions, values, and ethos of the Indian Army. His extensive experience across different theatres has provided him with a nuanced understanding of military leadership, soldiering, operational preparedness, camaraderie, and the resilience required to serve in challenging circumstances. His perspective is rooted not merely in military experience but also in a deep appreciation of the sacrifices and contributions of the men and women who serve the nation.
Following his retirement from active service, Colonel Bhuyan has continued to remain closely engaged with military history, strategic affairs, defence studies, and geopolitics. His interest in India's military heritage has taken him to numerous historic battlefields and places associated with significant campaigns and military engagements. An avid photographer and keen observer of military affairs, Colonel Bhuyan combines his interest in history with a strong visual and analytical perspective. His travels and photography reflect his fascination with military heritage, battlefields, landscapes, and the stories of courage and sacrifice associated with them.
Colonel Bhuyan also co-manages Zenith Dialogues with Colonel L. S. Bisht, a platform dedicated to meaningful conversations on subjects of national and strategic importance. Through their discussions, they explore a wide range of issues encompassing defence, geopolitics, national security, military history, leadership, strategic affairs, and contemporary global developments.

Col Lokendra Singh Bisht

Commissioned into the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) of the Indian Army, Colonel Lokendra Singh Bisht served with distinction across a diverse range of operational, technical, instructional, and staff appointments during his military career. His professional journey reflects a unique combination of engineering expertise, operational exposure, military leadership, and strategic understanding.
Colonel Bisht’s operational experience spans some of the most demanding environments in which the Indian Army operates. He served in high-altitude areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) during an Infantry attachment, gaining first-hand exposure to the challenges of deployment in extreme terrain and harsh climatic conditions. He also participated in Operation Vijay with a prestigious Armoured Regiment, contributing to one of the most significant military operations in India's recent history. His service with a Helicopter Unit deployed in high-altitude sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) further broadened his operational experience, particularly in the areas of aviation support, logistics, mobility, and military operations in difficult terrain.
An accomplished military technologist and aeronautical engineer, Colonel Bisht holds an M.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. His academic and technical expertise was further complemented by his experience as an Instructor at the Faculty of Aeronautical Engineering in a premier military institution, where he was responsible for imparting specialised knowledge and mentoring future generations of military engineers. His contribution to military education reflects his ability to bridge advanced technical knowledge with practical military applications.
Colonel Bisht also held the important appointment of Principal Staff Officer in an Infantry Division deployed along the LoC. In this capacity, he was closely involved in operational planning, coordination, preparedness, and force readiness, providing him with valuable insight into the complexities of military decision-making and the integration of various operational and logistical elements.
Following his retirement from active service, Colonel Bisht has continued to remain actively engaged with geopolitics, national security, strategic affairs, defence policy, and contemporary military issues.
